I have had a problem for a while with OutLook Express.

When I receive a text only email and print it, I get a gray
background. It fills the page with a 1/2 inch white border
all the way around. (A blank, unprinted border...)

I can print it this way to a laser printer, or I can "capture"
the email printed to an Adobe PDF file printer driver.
I know it is gray since it shows up as medium gray in the
PDF file. (They support colors, such as blue "links" in the
text message show as blue. In a full color message, it is in
full color.)

The odd thing is, this does not happen on my screen in the
pre-view window, or when I open the message and view
it that way...

As a further test, I just printed an HTML message to a PDF
file. The Gray background was in the header section
and the bottom (covered) layer of the HTML display.
(I never noticed HTML consisted of "layers" before...)
It appeared as a thin slice on the right, and after the last
actual page ended - the full width to the end of page on
the "paper".

There is some odd setting in the Windows settings where
you can change the color of Title Bars and such, but I almost
never "play" in there, and if I DO change the color of the
preview window background, it shows up on the screen...

Can anybody take a "stab" at where this background printing
color is coming from?

I do not use Stationary for sending e-mails, and the plain text
messages I get are not using stationary.
