I assume the Roxio program mentioned is PhotoRelay and although it only
works with one song nothing prevents you from merging several songs/tracks
together to create one long song. The one strong point of PhotoRelay that
many of the other slideshow programs don't have is the ability to take the
length of the music file and divide it by the number of pictures to
synchronize the music to finish with the last picture. If you have the Roxio
suite of programs you can use Easy CD Ceator to merge 2 or more tracks/mp3
files. Simply select create a music cd and in the layout add the 2 or more
tracks/mp3 files you want to use. Highlight the tracks by clicking on them
while holding down the shift key and then right click and chose merge
tracks. You will wind up with one long music/wav file to use in your
slideshow and PhotoRelay will sync it to the number of slides you use. It
works very well.

I've looked at a lot of slideshow programs and so far haven't found one that
has all of the features, transitions etc to make things easy and intuitive.
I would like to be able to tell a program how long to display an individual
slide yet still have it sync the overall slideshow. I.E. display slide 3 for
6 seconds, display slide 18 for 12 seconds and then let the software figure
out how many second it should use for the rest of the slides with the music
supplied. Also have it be able to automatically use the same transition for
all slides except those individual ones you chose and calculate that time
into the synchronization. They all seem to have numerous features but none
seems to have them all.

Good luck with your slideshows.

Joe

Hi Deborah,

Regarding your question about slideshow programs, when I was using Roxio's
Easy CD Creator, that program included an adequate (in my opinion) program
for creating CDs with music (one song, played repeatedly). I switched to
Nero, and reviewed several programs to make slideshows, and settled on
PhotoParade (www.photoparade.com). Prices vary based on the number of
"Themes" (e.g., seasons, kids, business, etc.) you wish to purchased. I
have been very pleased with the product and used it to create a CD slide
show which I distributed to members of a committee. All seemed pleased and
impressed, and I included several songs in the 12 minute presentation. The
program is easy to use, comprehensive, and having reviewed several programs,
I recommend it without reservation.

Hope that helps.

Ed
