Since a lot of "program installs" reboot and finish the install
later, after the reboot, you may never find one that works
as you would like. I also believe some companies do not want
you to know "too much" about what they are doing.

Install shield from Sterling Technologies, Lead, and others, started
putting an end to the feature you are looking for.
