 Yes, I'm using Win98 with 64 Mb Ram but perhaps I was not clear before. The
problem arises after scan disk has completed the scanning process and I try
to close scan disk before going on to Defrag.
 I do this in Safe Mode because although I try to close down everything I
often have problems and as I follow scan disk with defrag I've found Safe
Mode more satisfactory.Next time I'm due to do this I will try to do it out
of safe mode.
