The right set of commandline switches will make XCOPY/XCOPY32 work
properly. In fact there are no switches that affect this problem.
This page confirms that what I saw does happen if you use XCOPY to clone a
disk and there is no way to make it work correctly every time. Everyone
who recommends using XCOPY to clone a disk should read this page and let us
know if there is a way to do it correctly. If not, everyone recommending
using XCOPY would do well to include this page in a warning about using
XCOPY that short file names may not be preserved.
