The Windows 2000 Professional lockup problem has been solved.  There is an
incompatability problem with this OS and HP OfficeJet all in one printers.
HP provides suggestions to alleviate the resulting problems of computer
slowness, stalling, and 100% system CPU usage.  In my case, changing the
priority of the print driver to a higher (less "important") number has done
the trick.
