Problem:
Every time Netscape Communicator is launched, Microsoft Windows 95/98
toggles between "Connect through a modem" or "Connect through a LAN".

This is caused by installing Communicator 4.5 on top of Netscape 4.0x
Internet Access Edition.

Solution:

The simplest solution is to create a new profile. To do this:

Exit Communicator.
Click the Start button and choose Programs, Netscape Communicator,
Utilities, User Profile Manager.
Follow the prompts from there to create a new profile.
