Hi Lisa.
If I recall your original message, you're running "Workgroups". I installed
this also, prior to all my problems with Outlook 98.
After installation my addressbook had been changed from the Outlook98
addressbook to the Exchange addressbook. Boy was I annoyed! And, as far as
I was able to determine, there was no way to change it back!
I reinstalled Outlook 98, and there was my Outlook 98 addressbook! No more
Exchange addressbook!!
Now, when I installed Outlook 98 I also installed IE-4.0. Nothing extra!
At the time I was running Win 95B with USB Support, and IE-3.x, on a 200Mh
machine with 64Mb.
Everything ran fine until I installed the "Workgroups" thing (can't remember
exactly what its called), then the problems began. So, I uninstalled
Outlook 98 (just Outlook 98), and reinstalled.
The only real change is that my Outlook data and settings are now contained
in the Outlook.pst and .pab files, and Mailbox.pst and .pab files. So you
have to save all of them.
Oh yes! Backup your Outlook data, especially "Contacts" and your
"Addressbook", electronically, and in a .txt file. I had problems importing
this information back into Outlook.
Everything has been just fine since.
Good luck,
Gary Perkins
