I solved the weird hard drives!! The original maker of the computer had installed a 4 unit
CARD READER!! I didn't notice it when I installed the OS. So I unplugged the reader, used ERASER to clean the first 40Gb, installed XPpro Sp2 & everything came up normal. When I had it up & running I partitioned the drive into 5 units, C to H, then I put in 2 flash drives
which became  I  &  J. Then I plugged in the reader & the reader carried on from K on.
I wish to thank all the people that gave me ideas to solve the problem.

Right click on the drive and rename.
