Not knowing which of the features of PD that you really
used and depended on, my suggestion could be off base.
But as a file manager I've been using Total Commander
(recently re-named from Windows Commander) for many years.
For me it is very friendly with the two window interface
with all the functions of file management that I've ever
needed. It is based on the old-old Norton Commander of
the early Win 95 days. Since it is shareware you can
download a version from:

I just purchased a new 1.7 G computer with WIN XP. I had
been using Power
Desk 98 on my old computer that has WIN 98. I also have
Power Desk 5.0 but
neither PD98 or PD5 work satisfactorily on Win XP.

I just downloaded the Universal Explorer Ver. 3.4 that
seems to have most
of the features that the Power Desk's had.

Question: Should I purchase UE or are there other
"Explorers" that are
better than UE that I should consider.
