I can help with this.  Is the Social Security Number stored in the
database formatted with the dashes or is it stored only as the digits?
I'm assuming that you have them enter a SSN with the dashes and use it
as a criteria in the query?  This would imply that the SSN is stored in
the database with the dashes so maybe I've answered my own question.
You should be able to accept their input into a parameter without dashes
and compare it against a copy of the SSN where you have removed the
dashes from the database copy.  I don't have Access installed at home so
I cannot try this and show the query but I can do it at work on Monday
after you've answered the questions above.
