I did a search at www.dogpile.com and it looks as though "hiberfil.sys" is one of a series of files created
when Win 2000 is upgraded to Win XP. My initial guess would be that it's a file used to restore parts of Win
2000, but like I stated, it's only a *guess*. Here's the link for the search that I did. hth
