I'm looking to purchase either Dragon Naturally Speaking Pro or Voice Xpress
Pro. Has anyone had experience with either package?
Ron I have L&H Voice express 5 . It is pretty good. I t has a tough time
with synonyms like for and four. But overall it does pretty well.
However it is a resource hog. I have 256mb of memory and an 800mhz slot a
Athlon CPU running win98se. It will eat up all the resources it can get and
bring my system to it's knees by either causing the system to lockup or to
not function properly with certain programs. I basically use it when I have
to type a lot and type fast which I can't really do. My distinct evil
pleasure with it is that I can use it with MIRC and keep up with the other
chatters who type at warp speed. Provided I open Mirc then Voice Express
doing the reverse causes one of those lock ups I mentioned.
I think the program is neat but I don't think it should be called version 5,
I think beta release 5 would be better. I used it over Dragon because I
have a friend who has Dragon and it locks up and forces you to have to
reboot that is not cool . Please note this is an opinion. your results may
vary. Best of luck.
Thanks,
