I have a friend who is writing a book (about opera houses, as it happens).
He needs to be able to handle accents, scandinavian letters, occasionally
cyryllic names and so on. While he will not be doing large chunks of text in
other languages he will probably mostly be using these characters in
people's names.

I know that Word for Windows would be perfectly OK as long as you don't mind
cutting and pasting, or inserting Symbols, but does anyone know any package
that might be more appropriate for his needs.

Regards
