You're telling me! Before the HP burned up (from HP putting NO case fans in), I got a clean OEM of XP & tried to load a clean install (you can use your HP OEM key with any OEM XP OS). Identifying my mobo chipset etc. (you can't just get a new mobo - ONLY HP mobo will fit), identifying drivers, then getting the correct drivers from HP took me three months! HP kept saying they didn't have individual drivers - wanted me to use their restoe CD (with all its crapware). During this process they actually admitted they had sold space (that I paid for) on MY hard drive to advertisers/vendors! It was a nightmare. I finally got it put together and the then heat in the inadequately cooled pc burned up inside. --AnnaSummers

Also It's a nightmare for drivers. HP website list Vista drivers only for new PC and laptops.
And HP does not support downgrade to XP!!

One has to get XP drivers from the chipset manufacturer. Everest is helpful!
