number of updates and patches that had piled up. All came from Microsoft.
The only problem I have is that now every time I start or reboot I get that
annoying windows logon box. I have no other user accounts, am not on any
type of network. I have tried entering a blank password as the box
suggests, have tried changing the password via the Control
Panel/Passwords/Change Windows Password tab (once again using all blanks).
This has worked once before, right after installing the current HDD, but
not this time. I don't want to use the automatic login in TweakUI unless
there's no other choice. Any private replies should go to

appreciated. TIA.
Hi,
Check your network properties. Make sure that the Primary Network Logon
is set to Windows Logon. If it is set to Client for Microsoft Networks,
you will be asked for a password even if it is blank. Setting it to
Windows Logon will get rid of it (also, set the password to blank as
suggested).
