Alan,

It sounds like you have one mail that is still located on your ISP's
server. Netcape saw it, you read it one time as a new message but for some
reason Netscape or your email server did not complete deleting all read
messages on the server. The message you get is telling you that you have 4
messages on the server but only 3 of them are new.

To fix it I think you can go into your email options and set the mail to
be deleted on the server after reading it plus 1 day. Log on and check
email. Log off. Then set your email to be deleted off the server as soon
as it is read. Log on to your ISP, check email and it should then delete
all of the read email.

If it's still there it may be too large for the setting you have allowed
in Netscape options. For instance maybe someone sent you a 2mb file and you
have Netscape set to only allow 1mb file size.

There is also an easier way to delete this one email if you have shell
access to your email. Just log on to email with your shell account, read
the email and delete it.
