Many people use MS Publisher for postcards but it is expensive to buy and i find it's not necessary.  I use Word - you can get postcard templates from MS's site - go the microsoft.com (not MSN.com) - and use the links to get to templates - once you select a template, you can open it in Word and save it and then play around with it (e.g. delete their pictures and insert your own, etc.).
