Take the hard drive out of the old computer and install it in the new
computer, then copy all the stuff that you want.
Make sure that before getting inside the computers you have unplugged them!
Also, try to touch the computer case to ground yourself and get rid of any
static charge that you have. Try to not touch anything inside the case
except for the hard drives, the power plugs, and the ribbon connectors.
You
might have to use one of the ribbons from your old computer. Since I don't
know anything about the hardware of either computer, nor do I know how
comfortable you are poking around inside a computer, that is about all I
can
say at this point, but, it is easy to move a hard drive around - you just
have to watch out for static electricity.
You will have to make sure that the master/slave jumper setting is correct
on both of the hard drives, depending on how you install them.
While you can copy anything, programs that need to be installed may not
work when copied. It depends on the program.
When you are done copying stuff, you can put everything back the way it
was.
Good luck,
Dean Kukral
