Thanks for the input.

However, I discovered I could remove Access 97, although a bit labor
intensive.

First, uninstalled Office 2000, then located all the folders for Office 97
Pro and manually deleted them, then ran RegClearner
(http://www.vtoy.fi/jv16/shtml/software.shtml), checked for any remnants of
97 floating around, reinstalled those components of Office 2000 I wanted,
and voila, about 300MB free, smooth running programs needed, and one happy
camper.

Granted, it would have been much easier had I had the 97 Pro CD, but at
least I got there :-)
