You need to run scanreg.exe from dos. Boot from your A:\ drive with your boot disk, and type
scanreg_/? at the dos prompt - (the underscore represents a space). This will give you the commands
you can use with Scanreg - backup, restore, etc. Depending on what you want to do, you can type
Scanreg_/ (Option). If you have a good registry backup, type Scanreg_/Restore. If not, try
Scanreg_/fix.
