In Word 97, to have the file name to be printed in the header or footer
when you print a document:

Open NORMAL.DOT.
(It is usually the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates folder.)
Go to VIEW | HEADER AND FOOTER.
Click on the SWITCH BETWEEN HEADER AND FOOTER icon to go to the footer.
Go to INSERT | FIELD | DOCUMENT INFORMATION | FILE NAME.
(If you want the full path of the file to be displayed along with the name,
click on OPTIONS | FIELD SPECIFIC SWITCHES. Make sure \p is highlighted and
click [Add to field].)
Click on [OK] till you get back to NORMAL.DOT. Save it.
Now every new document should have the file name at the bottom.
