Most probably, either the file is corrupt (check with any viewer like
AcdSee, or IrfanView, or Microsoft Explorer :) or there really isn't
enough RAM, which in Photoshop means that either your colleague has
less than 32 Mb of RAM (Photoshop will work on 16, but don't expect it
to be very stable) or the scratch drive is full. Check that the
scratch drive has enough free space - 100 Mb will be enough to open &
edit most of the files.
