You haven't explained what kinds of files these are, or what you're doing
with them. I will try to make a few suggestions that might be helpful.
If this is something you will need to do repeatedly, you might want to
consider putting your files in different directories, based on how you wish
to treat them.
Wildcards might be useful:
copy *.doc
copyiesall files with a doc extention.
sta*.*
copies all files beginning with sta.
???fil.doc
copies all files with six characters ending in fil, plus doc extention.
