Hi Dave,

Good choice. To turn off the Windows Firewall go to Control Panel and open
the Security Center applet. At the bottom under "Manage security settings
for:" click "Windows Firewall". There, on the General tab, click the radio
button next to "Off". Click "OK".

While in the Security Center, you can manage the Alert Settings by clicking
on "Change the way Security Center alerts me". This is useful for those
annoying warning windows that pop up occasionally.

Thanks for all the replys. I believe I'll go back to the free version of
Zone Alarm. Now for a simpler question. How do I disable the Windows
fiewall?
Thanks again for all your knowledge transfer and help.
