Great title.
I'm not sure what you mean, though. The computer prints a period when
you press delete?
Many laptops have alternate key functions accessed by pressing the FN
key, so you might check the manual to see if the delete key functions
this way.
Otherwise, explain this more fully. Do all other keys function properly?

Asus laptop running Win 7.
Why do I sometimes get a period or dot instead of delete?
What do I have to do to reset this? I want to have a delete when I press
delete.
