My system: Homegrown 500 Mhz AMD,Windows 95, 2.0 GB harddrive, 32 MB memory, new FIC motherboard with 4/00 bios date, AGP card.....kinda basic. My problem......can't install IE, either using control panel or "run". The setup attempts to initiate and then pauses. I get these error messages: " you are upgrading a version of IE 5 which the uninstall feature has been disabled. If you continue, setup will update your PC with the new version but the uninstall feature will remain disabled." When I click OK I get another error message that says the conponents could not be downloaded...etc., or it will read "shut down all windows and retry". I had a previous *crash* where I had to uninstall an OS from DOS ,which was recommended I didn't! Anyway,...............any Ideas?
Thanks so much, Jim
