I'm a little confused about this. I had a virus a few weeks ago, when I
still had Avast!. Avast! told me I had the Win32 Beagle virus, (as opposed
to Win32 Bagle), and that it couldn't fix it. I downloaded Norton and that
got rid of it. Now, upon reading about this removal tool for Win32 Bagle,
I'm wondering if that's actually the same virus I had and if I should
download the tool and run it in case there were changes made to my registry
that Norton wouldn't have fixed?

There is a standalone removal tool that you should download on another
machine and then use it to remove the virus on the infected machine. You can
get it from:

Get the one for the BAGEL and all it's variations.
