Thanks to all who've responded to my request for a simple text editor that
can BOLD, UNDERLINE and ITALIC selected passages.

A couple of recent respondents are:
Laurence and Bill with 'NoteTab'
Joe with 'Win32Pad'

Regrettably, neither of these apps have the facility.

The quick way to test a text editor's ability to employ this intelligent
function is to type a few lines of random text, then hit Ctrl\A to select
all of the text.

Ctrl\B will now change the selected text to bold.
Ctrl\U will underline it.
Ctrl\I will display it in italics.

(Some text editors will enable you to 'Format\Font'. This will change the
selected text to a nominated font and style (ie, Bold, Bold Italic etc) but
this is NOT the same thing, apart from being much slower than hotkeys).

I do appreciate the suggestions that have been put forward, but it would be
particularly helpful if you've tried out the program yourself, and know that
it works, before proposing it.
