It sounds like you have a bad setting for the DNS (Domain Name
Server). This is a server that tells your browser where to get the 12
digit IP address for the site you have requested. Check the setting under
your network IP settings for DNS. Most dial up connections now specify
"Disable DNS" so that the settings can be assigned dynamically when you
connect. I don't know about AOL, and their disk may have changed that
setting.
