It sounds to me that the Bell South tech had your friend remove some
networking information. You can reinstall it by going to Control
Panel, Network, and checking Client for Microsoft Networks and Client
for NetWare Networks (or something like that, I forget the exact
wording) are installed. If they're not, install them by clicking on
Add, then Client. Select Microsoft from the list of manufacturers, and
select these 2 clients in the box that comes up.
You should also call your friend's ISP, if she still has one, and ask
them what network settings their service requires.
On 10 Mar 98 about [PCSOFT] Missing files after uninst, Rex Moore
had this to say:
