1. Check C/A/D to see what's normally running after startup.

2. Reboot and disable all startup progs from opening, by holding down
Shift, (or whatever your OS requires), at startup.  Or start in Safe Mode.

3. If this fixes the problem, then it's just a matter of elimination by
opening each of your startup programs in turn and see if your theory is
correct.
