Thanks everyone - I tried the tip about Ctrl Alt Del and sure enough it was
still running even though I had closed it.  I'm using Netscape 4.7.  When it
was acting up, I couldn't get any site - even my banks that I use every day.
However, I tried on Explorer and they worked just fine.  I'll use the tip
about changing my start page to the C prompt also just to cover all the
bases.  I will probably still do a complete reinstall.  Thanks for the aside
to save my user file to a different place.  I would have been unhappy to
have to redo all my bookmarks.  Dianne Gronfors
