Yes...doing an fdisk, format and reinstallation would probably rid
yourself of your "several errors." So, quite likely, would trying a few
others things first, though. So, I wouldn't get that shotgun out quite
yet! <g>

First, it would be helpful to have a more precise description of the
errors. In other words, what program or operation you are trying to
accomplish when the errors occur; what type of messages are they ("illegal
operation"; Blue Screen of Death"; other); can you successfully navigate
after the error pops up or do you have to shutdown; when did you first
start having problems; had you just before that time installed new
hardware or software.

Let's start with that and then see where we end up.

        Brian

P.S. As far as going through the process every six months...I can
certainly think of a better way to spend 2+ weekends every year!

I have Windows 98 and I am starting to get several errors. I was told
that the only way to fix this is to run fdisk, format my hard drive, then
reinstall everything. I was also told that I should do this every six
months or so depending on how often I use my computer. Is this correct?
