David, If you use NetScape, look in "HELP" to see how to change
your
NetScape "CACHE". For some versions, it is in "Options, Network
Preferences,
Cache, Disk Cache Directory. If this setting points to your DeskTop, you
have found the problem. (What caused it is another problem!)
Do a search of your drive(s) to see where *.moz files USED to be
stored,
and set the path for the CACHE directory back to that location,
(OR anywhere else, but then delete all MOZ files in any old CACHE
directories
you have found.)
You have Win95? That is an older file extension for NetScape that has
been "out of use" for quite some time. If this was the cause of your
problem,
and you have limited hard drive space, I would also recommend
"upgrading"
to one of the "version 3" NetScapes. Ver. 3.05 would be a major
improvement.
If you have LOTS of space, get the highest stand-alone ver 4 except the
newest.
You can find "older" versions of NetScape in the Archive Section at:
http://www.netscape.com/download
You can delete all the MOZ files from your desktop IF this was the
cause
of your problem. IF NOT, try a "universal file viewer" or a binary editor
to view the files to see what they are.
