Windows Keyboard Shortcuts Overview
The above link, which you likely already know, is of general use.
For your specific request, you can press start,
right click and rename "My Documents" with a name
whose first letter appears only once on the start menu, for example: "q".
Thereafter, your client simply presses Start, q
and his "My Documents" will open.
Please note: I am not sure whether this idea has any disadvantages
the he may experience. Likely not, but with Windows
frequent surprises necessitate groups like this one.

I am working with a blind one handed typist who is trying to learn the
computer. Sticky keys isn't behaving and doesn't want to open the Start
Menu and if it does his screen reading software keeps echoing the word
"Windows."
I'm trying to find a shortcut to pop open My Documents from a shortcut
on his Kensington Expert Mouse. It has 6 programmable buttons that I'm
setting to open his programs, but I can't find how to start My Docs.
The mouse won't accept a shortcut to the program -- it wants an exe
file.
I know this is tough, but anyone with his handicaps who can still
persevere needs all the help we can give him.
Thanks,
