At least with Firefox, you can backup your profile which would include bookmarks and passwords. Restoring it is not quite as simple as recovering an office file but it is very doable.

Depends.  What browser are you using?  If it's Firefox,  click tools -> addons -> extensions - you will see uninstall options from there.  Also, go to 'Tools' then 'Options'. Then go to the 'homepage' area and select the restore to default.  In Google Chome go into the extensions and click disable.
You can try deleting the browser itself, then shut down and reboot the pc.   (You may lose any favorites, etc. if you saved any within the browser).  You can then reinstall the browser.
If it's showing up in Internet Explorer, have you looked in Windows Task Manager (hit alt ctl delete, then 'start task manager') look under applications and processes tabs and see if it shows up there.  If you see something suspicious, do a web search on the name and see what it is.  
You can also do a web search on FUNMOODS.  There seem to be a number of possible solutions there, including the Firefox and chrome ideas above.  Be careful if you download something else to get rid of it.  Sites like cnet are usually pretty safe, bur read carefully.  Superantimalwarebytes, etc. and other downloads they offer at the cnet site may also work.
