Either Ghost or Drive Image will do this. Both programs create a image file
of a partition...boot sector....partition tables..files.....everything.
They restore the image file into <free> space.
After restoration you end up with the exact partition you had before. The
programs allow you to backup one or all partitions on a hard drive to
another hard drive and / or partition, a tape, a portable drive or even
a CD.
