I just completed a fresh installation of Microsoft Office 95 and get the
following error when trying to run Access:
"Microsoft Access can't start the data access object (DAO) and so it can't
continue. Solution, Run Setup to reinstall Microsoft Access."
When I click OK I get the following:
"A system error occurred, or there isn't enough free memory to start
Microsoft Access. Close unneeded programs and try again."
The error occurs whether just trying to open a blank database or trying to
open a previously created database.
System Configuration:
Compaq P-100
Windows 95
Standard software (Netscape, exchange, mcafee, timbuktu...)
Nothing else running at the time and no TSRs in the background
32 MB RAM
55 MB of free hard drive space after install.
Word, Excel and Powerpoint all work fine. I have tried to reinstall and have
selected to install all componants of Office 95.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. The MS KB and TechNet have not been
helpful in this case.
Thank you to all that respond.
