Not sure if this is a software problem or a hardware one. I sure as heck
don't want to have to format again.... as I have already done it 3 times,
no less.

I have an 8400 Dell Dimension, running Win XP Home, SP3, 2 GB Ram and
using Firefox, mostly as my browser. Sometimes, Explorer.

When I right click and select 'open in tab,' it goes up to the bar, but
the X is invisible unless I run the cursor over it, but it will not open in
that tab unless I click on it - even in Explorer. Also, I have my colors in
Firefox set with the blue color as the link, but after you click on them,
they turn red showing me I have already clicked on that link. Not so any
more.

I recently had to format, and ever since that time, this happened. I
don't know if it's my software or what or if it's something I am not doing
right. But these steps have always worked for me, now they won't.
