I have to format  my hardrive and need to know if the SP2 cd also contains 
that which was in   SP1.

SP2 covers up to that time -- past and present.  Be sure and  set your system 
on AUTOMATIC updates.  Go to Control Panel, click on  Automatic Updates and 
at the top .. where it says Automatic Updates, put a check  mark there.  It 
will update your computer needed.  You know, of  course, your system has to be ON 
when the updates takes place.  So be sure  and set a time of day or night 
when you have it on.  It will do this behind  the scenes, you will not know its 
working in the background.   Harriet
