Lynn:
I'm running 98SE, and have very little familiarity with XP, but this may be
of help. In 98 I just go to the dos prompt c:\windows, (which is where
"command.com" is ) and type (without the quotes) "scandisk" and that should
bring up the scandisk screen. Actually all I do is hit my msdos icon on my
desk top. I set up a shortcut since I still have enough computer activities
that cause me to visit dos often. As I said, XP may be completely different
regarding dos, but with the talent on this list, I'm sure you will get a
quick answer.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Scandisk in DOS mode

Dear List,

I can't find how to start Scandisk from the dos prompt and since XP doesn't
allow you to manually initiate in windows unless you want to shutdown and
restart, which in my opinion is a pain, so anyone know how to start scandisk
from the dos prompt?

Thanks,
Lynn Kucera
