From the Start button go to Settings, Control Panel,
System. On the General Tab, it should say
Microsoft Windows 95
4.00.950 (the original)
or
4.00.950 A (this is Service Pack One, downloaded from
www.microsoft.com)
or
4.00.950 B (also known as Service Release Two)

There is a Sleep mode built into many hardware
configurations that will reduce the power required when
there is little or no activity. There are three places to
control this:
1. Control Panel, Power
2. Control Panel, Display
3. the system CMOS, under power settings

Am not certain on this one, but this could be a function of
FAT16 versus FAT32. FAT32 is part of 95B.
