I find it unlikely (but, what do I know!) that Outlook Express 6 that you
used to send your post is the **only** program affected in this way.
Possibly the resolution was increased with the move to XP.

Regardless, try this (it is readily un-doable so don't worry about
permanent changes):
Right-click on the desktop
Left-click on "Properties"
Click on the "Appearance" tab
Change the "Font size" to "Large" or "Extra Large" fonts

See how you like it!
Again, this will change the font size through out XP but this may be
exactly what you want!
