First you must stop the rebooting process. This is done by typing
"shutdown -a" (no quotes) at Start/Run. Then download the patch to prevent
reoccurrence, then remove virus.

An elder in my family has a machine that is infected with the Blaster; she's
hardly computer literate, lives isolated as far as on-site computer help is
concerned.

I don't have a clue as to how to advise her how to disinfect her computer
because of the shutdown/reboot feature of the virus.  How do you activate a
patch or a systems check with your AVP when the pc continually shuts down
and reboots?
