All Netscape 4.x versions will attempt to complete the domain name ----
provided you give it enough information to make an intelligent guess. If
you don't provide enough data, then it will go to the search engine.
As an example:
If you just type in microsoft, it will take you to WWW.microsoft.com even
though you may have wanted to go to http://SUPPORT.microsoft.com or
http://MSPRESS.microsoft.com or http://MSDN.microsoft.com
Also:
If you type in www.someplace, it won't know if you want someplace.com, or
someplace.edu or someplace.net, etc etc.
You might want to take a look at
http://home.netscape.com/escapes/smart_browsing/index.html
for a more detailed explanation of how it works.

Is there a way to set the latest version of NS so that it will
complete the domain names, adding "http://www." and ".com",
like the old one did, or is one stuck with a redirect to a NS search
page?
Thank you.
