Thanks for all your comments.
They answered my calls. They were away and could not respond until today.
The solution? They said the program was a 16 bit program and thus did not
appear in XP's Add/Remove Programs and  in Norton's Clean Sweep. To remove it,
just delete it with no harm to the Registry. I did just that and things seem OK.
Again, thanks for all your comments and suggestions.
