You might have "Disconnect a call if idle for more than [x] minutes"
checked off in the Modem Properties section of DUN. You can choose a
value for x, but it would be better to disable this feature by removing
the check mark. In this case idle means sending or receiving data via
your modem, not just using the keyboard or mouse. Exactly where this
setting is depends on what version of DUN you are using. But look for
it somewhere in the DUN applet of My Computer.

If you are using the original DUN from Win95 or Win95a, you might consider
downloading and instgalling DUN 1.2b. This involves first downloading
and installing <http://www.microsoft.com/communications/exes/wsockupd.exe>
and (only after this) installing
<http://www.microsoft.com/communications/exes/msdun12.exe>.

Another solution would be to download and run a "time checking" program
every few minutes (automatically in the background) to keep your
connection alive. This takes only a fraction of a second each time it
runs. Try <http://www2.thecia.net/users/dedcat/atmtm14b.zip> or
<ftp://ftp.thinkman.com/pub/thinkman/d4time41.zip> (freeware).

Bill
