1) How do I get rid of the box asking for user name and password that pops
up upon starting Windows? (I have never filled in either space, merely
canceled.)

- What Operating System are you using? In Windows 98 SE, you can get rid
of this by going to Network Icon in Control Panel and loog for Primary
Network Logon then choose Windows Logon. Afterwards, don't restart your
PC, just click on NO and then go to MS-DOS Prompt. If for example, at this
moment your currently logged on as BOB, in C;\windows folder, you can find
a BOB.PWL, delete this file. Then afterwards restart your PC, it will then
Prompt you to type a new Password and user. Don't press ESC or click on
Cancel, but rather, type any Name in the user name but blank for password
then press Enter right away. Hope this would help you somehow.
