Alt+Spacebar brings up window control functions, so what it does depends on what application you are using.  Another poster had trouble with the position of his display properties dialog.  For him Alt+Spacebar gave him the choice of moving or closing the properties box.  Other possible functions include minimize, restore, and resize, again, depending upon which application is in use.
